IB world school
Ressun lukio became an authorized IB school in 2002, offering the Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization. Our first IB students graduated in 2005 and have since gained admission to universities throughout the world, including well-known institutions such as Harvard, Oxford, Sorbonne and London School of Economics.
The IB programme is aimed for Finnish students who need strong language skills and an internationally-recognised diploma in their further studies or future career, as well as for children from non-Finnish-speaking families.
The IB Diploma programme is a rigorous two-year pre-university course for students aged between 16 and 19. In Finnish schools, IB studies are preceded by a preparatory year, Pre-IB, which is usually compulsory for students wishing to be accepted to the actual IB Diploma programme.
